Dandelion Macro Photography

I’ve recently gotten back into photography having not taken a photograph that wasn’t more than a snapshot for several years. Here is an unplanned photo shoot of a dandelion.

Along with a Nikon D7000 I bought a Tamron 100mm f2.8 Macro lens. I had arrived home from work and I noticed a dandelion growing on the lawn and thought it might make for an interesting subject.  Normally I would just bring my camera outside and photograph the flower in natural light but I thought I’d try something different. I decided to try a studio setup, so I picked the flower and brought it inside, it was when I was inside and began shooting that I noticed a bright yellow book on my desk I could use as the background.

Overall I am please with how these came out especially considering its wasn’t planned. There wasn’t much editing to be done except for sensor dust cleaning (at a smaller aperture it really comes into focus) and minor color correction.
